These terms govern your use of biorx.uk (the "Site"). By using the Site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Who we are

The Site is operated by BioRx.

References to "we", "us" and "our" mean BioRx. References to "you" mean the user of the Site.

The Site is educational only

The Site provides general educational information about peptide science. It is not medical advice, and no doctor-patient or other professional relationship is created by your use of it. This is important enough that it has its own page: please read the Medical Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

We do not publish dosing protocols, administration guidance or supplier information, and we will not provide them on request.

Access to the Site

Access is provided free of charge. We do not guarantee that the Site, or any content on it, will always be available or uninterrupted, and we may suspend, withdraw or restrict all or any part of it for business or operational reasons without notice. We may change the content of the Site at any time.

You are responsible for the arrangements necessary for you to access the Site, and for ensuring that everyone accessing it through your connection is aware of these terms.

Acceptable use

You may use the Site only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • use the Site in any way that breaches applicable law or regulation, or that is fraudulent or has any fraudulent purpose or effect;
  • use the Site to harm or attempt to harm anyone, or to send unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material;
  • knowingly introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other malicious or technologically harmful material;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, the server on which it is stored, or any server, computer or database connected to it;
  • attack the Site via a denial-of-service or distributed denial-of-service attack;
  • use any robot, spider, scraper or automated means to access, harvest or copy content, other than a well-behaved search engine crawler that respects our robots.txt;
  • systematically extract or reuse content to create any compilation, database or directory, or to train any machine learning or AI model, without our prior written permission;
  • misrepresent our content, including by removing evidence tiers, dates, caveats or citations in a way that overstates what the evidence shows; or
  • use our name, marks or content to imply endorsement of any product, supplier, clinic or protocol.

Breaching this section may be a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. Where we consider a breach has occurred we may withdraw your right to use the Site, take legal proceedings against you, and disclose relevant information to law enforcement.

Intellectual property

All content on the Site (text, structure, evidence gradings, tables, graphics, logos and design) is owned by BioRx or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright, database right and trade mark law.

What you may do. You may view, download and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial reference or internal professional use. You may quote short extracts in academic work, journalism, teaching or commentary, provided you attribute BioRx and link to the source page, and provided you do not alter the meaning.

What you may not do. You may not republish substantial parts of the Site, sell or commercially exploit our content, remove attribution or evidence gradings, present our content as your own, or use it as training data for machine learning systems, in each case without our prior written permission.

Third-party material (including cited studies, figures and quotations) remains the property of its owners and is used under fair dealing for the purposes of criticism, review, quotation, or reporting, or under licence. Nothing here grants you rights in that material.

No warranty

The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available".

While we take considerable care over accuracy (see our Editorial Policy ), scientific understanding changes, sources are sometimes wrong, and errors happen. We make no representations or warranties, express or implied, that the content is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose. Any reliance you place on it is at your own risk.

We do not warrant that the Site will be secure or free from bugs or viruses, and you are responsible for configuring your own technology and antivirus protection.

Where the Site links to third-party sites or resources, those links are provided for information only. We have no control over their content and accept no responsibility for it, and a link does not imply endorsement.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to that:

If you are a consumer, we provide the Site for domestic and private use. We accept no liability for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity. We are not liable for loss or damage that was not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it was obvious that it would happen, or if both parties knew it might happen when you began using the Site.

If you are a business user, we exclude all implied conditions, warranties, representations and other terms to the fullest extent permitted by law, and we will not be liable for any loss of profits, sales, business or revenue; business interruption; loss of anticipated savings; loss of business opportunity, goodwill or reputation; or any indirect or consequential loss, however arising. Our total aggregate liability to a business user in connection with the Site shall not exceed £100.

In particular, and for all users: we accept no liability for any decision made, action taken, or treatment obtained or foregone on the basis of information on the Site. The Site is not a substitute for professional medical advice, and it must not be used as one.

Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms at any time. The version in force is the one published on this page, with its date. Where a change is material we will take reasonable steps to highlight it on the Site. Continuing to use the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the amended terms; if you do not accept them, please stop using the Site.

Other terms

  • Severability. If any provision is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • No waiver. If we delay in enforcing any provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
  • Third parties. A person who is not a party to these terms has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any of them.
  • Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Medical Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between us regarding your use of the Site.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, their subject matter and their formation are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them.

If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction, and you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law there.
